When water is vaporized into the room, it is free of bacteria, mold and mildew. Unlike large, bulky humidifiers the Germ Guardian Table Top Humidifier is small and compact. Its space-saving design allows you to place it on a night stand or on your desk without taking up a lot of room. It has cool mist humidification, stands approximately eight inches tall and has a tank capacity of one-half gallon. It has a run time of up to ten hours depending on atmospheric conditions.

Summary: After a few weeks it has gotten loud
Comment: We bought two of these for our kids rooms. We run it on distilled water so there won't be any mineral deposits or white powder. Was great at first, but lately the both generate a loud winding noise when you turn them on. I think it goes away after it runs a bit, but when you are trying to get your kids to sleep its a problem.
It seems to take more than 8 hours to empty the tank - and neither the flow or the brightness of the light can be adjusted. These trade offs are fine if the noise problem can be worked around in my opinion.

Comment: We had one, but had to return it because of a malfunction, BUT, Amazon was great about the return, and the product is GREAT, it looks great, works perfect and is the perfect size for my child's dresser top.

Comment: I use Germ Guardian H1000 TableTop Humidifier for my office. It is a cold mist humidifier and is very quiet. Additionally,it has a 'zen' flow of mist coming out that is very relaxing. I would recommend it for the work space.
