They make it almost like you're not having your period. They are great for sports, especially swimming. And, you can even be intimate while using them, and your partner will barely notice. Comment: I recently used the Instead Cup this past week after seeing it at the drugstore, I decided to try it. Maybe two or three months ago the idea of getting a menstural cup was in the back of my mind after a disappointing experience with the new Always Maximum Overnight Pads (they STILL leaked on the back!) I was a mixture of nervousness, and excitement,because I have NEVER used tampons in my life, have never put anything in (douch, medication) I was suprised at how easy it was. It was soo free-ing to not worry about overnight leaks, and getting up first thing in the morning and leaking!You really don't feel it at all. I had a problem taking them out twice though, and my husband had to help me (sorry honey). I read the directions, looked at the website, but I put it in upside down the second time, and with small hands, it was a problem. So make sure to read the instuctions and look at the product first. Also it would have been easier if I was more aware of my body, but I just never wanted to use tampons, or douches.
I only gave it a three because I am making small changes here and there to be more environmentally friendly, and these are not reuseable, and you still have to spend almost 9.00 to get new packages. I am going to try the Diva Cup because it is reuseable and last for a few years. I recommend this if you do not feel the need to be more environmentally, and you don't mind spending the money on them every few months. I'm 5'9, slim, have had one child, but the Instead just doesn't fit me. I leak the entire time. I am hoping to have better luck with the DivaCup #2.
