Summary: Great way to drown out other noises!
Comment: While I still have sleep issues, I think that the SleepMate has helped a lot in terms of drowning out random noises in the middle of the night. I don't hear the traffic/trucks/motorcycles anymore and my neighbor's yelling is also drowned out more. I think it's amazing that a product that creates such a light noise can help block out all the other noises as well.

Summary: Simple Noise
Comment: I bought this for my wife because she likes some white noise to block out the "bumps in the night" that often rob her from sleep. We have tried other sound machines with babbling brooks, rain, birds, etc, but those tend to keep me awake. This one is just a constant simple hum. You can adjust the tone of the hum and it has a low quieter speed that allows moms to still hear small kids in the night who may cry for attention, but still block out creaks in the house.

Comment: I have roommates that are often loud at night when I'm trying to sleep, all I have to do is flip the switch and all the ambient noise is drowned out and I sleep like a fat baby. :D

Summary: overpriced and unreliable
Comment: The (somewhat adjustable) sound this thing makes is soothing... until the bearings go bad. Then you get irritating bearing noises. I had mine for less than two years before I had to start wearing earplugs to muffle the bearing noise. Admittedly, the thing has been knocked off my nightstand a couple times.
I'd pay twenty five dollars for a replacement, but not the asking price.

Summary: I've never see anything better than this!
Comment: Wow!!! This product is amazingly effective in blocking unwanted noises. My inconsiderate neighbors are extremely loud. When I turn on the Marpac sound conditioner, the neighbors' loud talking sounds so much softer. When I want to have a private conversation with someone, all I have to do is turn on this sound conditioner and no one can hear my conversation. All the person hears is muffled noise.
